Teaching and Technology

I find myself overwhelmed by the wealth of information on the internet. I bookmark new pages that intrigue me, then lose track of them among all the bookmarked pages and forget about wonderful ideas that motivated me to save the bookmark in the first place. This page is an attempt to provide a resource page for myself and other teachers who are attempting to improve their teaching, with or without technology. As a science teacher I will probably have a STEM focus, but may also include all kinds of teaching strategies.

Teacher blogs are incredible resources for other teachers. I wonder how highly effective teachers also have time to maintain high quality blogs. Here are a list of some that I don't utilize enough, but hope to revisit more often if I have them in one convenient place.

Technology

Tech Tips for Teachers from a Teachers by Billy Shulman. "Check out these fabulous (and practical) resources to make learning more engaging for your students through the use of technology."

The Seven Minute Scientist by Dr. Amy B. Hollingsworth. Her blog "is focused on improving STEM education. My mission is to assist other STEM educators in positively impacting their students."

Physics

Global Physics Department: Here I specifically bookmarked the page titled Eugenia Etkina: ISLE-based teaching, because I am interested in learning more about her curriculum (when, if ever, there is time).  The header will take you to the home site, with links to many other posts of interest to physics teachers.

More to come...
